BESPOKE TAILORING

4/ Why to choose Santa Eulalia

First of all we need to differentiate between handmade bespoke tailoring and the industrial custom-made tailoring offered by many brands and shops. The former involves a master tailor who, depending on the client's preferences and physique, personally creates a unique pattern. There's no limitation to what this pattern can look like. All the different parameters and measurements can be varied as there is no original basis; the tailor creates the pattern from scratch.

Later, a team of specialised assistants sew and make up the garment. Carried out by hand, this work gives a unique and exclusive air to the suit. In our case, a dozen assistants take part, all of them at our workshop in Passeig de Gràcia, this being the largest tailoring shop in Spain and one of the very few remaining in Barcelona.

The industrial custom-made tailoring offered by many brands follows a different process. In such cases the starting point is a basic garment to which modifications are made according to the client's physique. Lines, buttons, lengths and widths can be altered but the cut and style of the garment remain unchanged. From this modified block pattern, the garment is cut and industrially manufactured following the same processes as the off-the-rack garments offered by the brand. The result is an industrial garment with some measurements and details adapted to the client's particular taste and body shape.

At Santa Eulalia we have both options. We can offer bespoke garments thanks to our workshop of master tailors, shirtmakers and assistants but we can also offer custom-made garments created by the brands sold at our store, such as Canali, Isaia, Brioni and Kiton.

Finally, with our bespoke shirts we offer you unique, high quality fabrics and you can choose, aided by our professionals, the kind of collar, cuffs and buttons you want, and even have your initials embroidered. Based on your measurements, we create a unique pattern for you that will be used for any future orders.
